My name is Heather, and I began this space to record pieces of my life while highlighting the theme of simplicity. To be honest, I’m an introvert who is easily overwhelmed. I learned years ago that if I was going to have peace and joy in this life of marriage, parenting four children, keeping a house, home education, and everything else that life throws at you, I needed to simplify, simplify, simplify. In the process I discovered that it not only made life doable, but richer as well.
I have been blissfully married to The Man since 1995, and we have been blessed with three sons and a daughter (whose real names are not used on this blog). My current vocation, begun back in 2005, is educating my children in truth, goodness, and beauty. We still homeschool the old-fashioned way, with hard-copy books and parental interaction. It is a gift and privilege to have a part in nurturing their hearts and minds.
We make an attempt (sometimes) at whole foods, but we are not gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, fat-free, or meat-free. I garden a tiny bit, write a tiny bit, and needle-felt a tiny bit. I am trying to learn to knit, but that also comes in tiny bits. I love beauty, nature, water, travel, research, home design, and uncluttered living.
The Man and I live in a newly-built home in the hills of rural Wisconsin.
